The second installment of the Eva and Zoe series, Where Shadows Linger follows the ever popular In the Blood of the Greeks. Having survived Nazi-occupied Greece and its liberation, Eva Muller and Zoe Lambros are still very much in love, wanting nothing more than to fulfill their dreams and hopes for the future. Emigrating to Sydney, Australia, the two women find themselves making new friends and forging a new life together. However, it is not long before their happiness is marred by prejudice and the machinations of old enemies, plunging them into mortal danger. Will the unique connection between Eva and Zoe be destroyed? Will they lose their new-found friends? Or will Eva and Zoe's love prove strong enough to overcome the shadows of the past that continue to linger in their lives?

Review: Where the Shadows Linger is a great follow-up to In The Blood of Greeks.
Where the latter sped along at breakneck speed giving you an exciting story
with some glimpses of what lies beneath in Eva and Zoe, WSL crafts an
intriguing story that will keep you turning pages as quickly as you can, but
it also gives you a more in-depth portrayal of its main players. You get a
better insight into Eva whose quiet presence is hiding many secrets. Zoe is
a fun and impulsive addiction -- both for Eva and for us as readers. In
addition, WSL offers up a bevy of new characters who in their own right are
well-done and interesting. I can't wait for the next installment ... And
hope that Eva and Zoe will be around for a long time for us to get to know
even better.

This is a great follow up to the first book. Mary draws you in with her portrayal of the charcters. You experience them trying to establish themselves in a new country with a lot of the same predudices they were trying to escape. Great read...I highly recommend it.
