Fiction. Poetry. Nancy Boutillier spent her childhood in black high-top sneakers. She told her fifth-grade teacher she was going to play for the Harlem Globetrotters, and when she realized she wasn't tall enough, she set her sights on being a poet. Nancy completed Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky; though a sharpshooter with an M-16 rifle, she still tends to dangle modifiers. She is currently a high-school English teacher, officiates basketball games and writes during half-time. She contributes regularly to the Bay Area Reporter, and her work has also appeared in Sphere, OUT/LOOK, Deneuve, and Girljock. Nancy hopes she is finally tall enough.

Review Summary: Some real gems in this book
Review: This is a truly wonderful book of poetry. I borrowed it from a college friend eight years ago, and NEVER RETURNED IT. I know, that's really rude, but every time I think about returning it, I can't bear to part with it. Now that I can buy it from Amazon.com, I'll finally return my friend's copy. "The Truth About High Heels" is my absolute favorite Poem in the book. Nancy has a wonderful gift of translating life into words. I highly recommend this book.
